My daily beauty routine is pretty consistent. The one small change that always makes a world of difference is switching up my lip color.
My (rather large) lipstick collection is filled with a variety of shades. I love bright orange and pink hues in the summer and deep reds and maroons in the winter, but the tans and peaches are my favorite shades to flaunt during fall.
There’s something about throwing on a comfy knit sweater, my favorite pair of booties and a glossy nude lip that makes me feel like a pumpkin spice latte-drinking rockstar. The natural colors match perfectly with the earth tones I’m always wearing when the temperature starts to drop.
Here are a couple of my favorite combinations for the perfect fall lip:
The first look is a liner, lipstick and a lip gloss. My MAC lip pencil in the shade Soar is the perfect base for any nude or dark pink lip. It has a creamy texture and is great for overlining and filling in thin lips. I have been using this liner for years and it’s one of my favorites.
After applying my Soar liner, I use Urban Decay’s Vice Lipstick in shade Morning After from the sheer line.
Side note: Who names these colors? Some of the other shades from this collection are called Anarchy and Phone Call…
Anyway, I love Urban Decay’s Vice line in sheer. The lipsticks are creamy and have a super shiny finish. Morning After is a light pink with just the right amount of pigment. Aside from the great texture, the blue undertone makes your teeth look whiter and brighter.
The last product you need for this look is Benefit’s Punch Pop! in Sugar Cookie. This is one of the Ulta exclusive shades and I am completely obsessed with it.
If you are reading this knowing you are going to stick to just wearing a gloss – you need this one. It’s softening, subtle and perfect for fall.
The final look is a pinky nude with an ultra glossy finish that makes your lips pop.
The second combo has a more peachy hue and is great for those of you who have any sort of pigment to your skin, unlike me.
I start out with the ModelCo Lip Enhancer Illusion Lip Liner. I received this in a Birchbox a few months ago and will definitely be reordering it soon. This wax pencil comes in one shade and magically defines and enhances any lip color.
Next, I swipe on my Stila Stay All Day Vinyl Lip Gloss in shade Patina. The one I have pictured is super old and from Nordstrom Rack (my second home), but the link takes you to the one I have purchased more recently.
This color stays on all day, is hydrating and has deep pigment.
The final look is a rich color that lasts from nine to five.
If you have any suggestions for fall makeup trends you’d like to see, please comment here or DM/email me. I’m always up for a trip to Ulta to spend more money than I planned on!
Wishing you all a happy week filled with glossy lips and strong coffee!
Love, Leigh
Can you do a Flawless skin, natural brows, bold wing and red lip? I feel like that may be Christmas look, but either way! haha Thanks for sharing all your beauty tips and tricks!
